Senior Program Director
Brief info

I am a Senior Program Director with New Challenges. I come to New Challenges with over 24 years of experience in Healthcare management and providing services under my belt. Having worked in both public and private sector my knowledge and skills in providing care, services, administration, and management has led me to the current role.

I earned my BS with a concentration in Healthcare Management and MBA with a concentration in Healthcare Management from St Catherine University, St Paul, MN. I am currently at St Marys’ University of MN taking DBA with a focus on Healthcare Management writing a dissertation researching on a quantitative study investigating whether introduction of telehealth in the rural areas of USA will improve the healthcare outcomes of the rural residents.

At work I focuses on a person centered approach to deliver services to the residents under my care. My belief that everyone should be treated with dignity and respect has led to the success in my career. This approach is grounded in the idea that people are inherently motivated toward achieving positive psychological functioning. A client is believed to be the expert in their life and leads the general direction of care or therapy. Promoting person centered values applies both to my residents as well as my staff. In my role promoting person centered values means carrying out my role in a way that respects the people who work with me and those who I provide services too at the same time.
I was born in Nairobi, Kenya, East Africa. I have one sister and five brothers our family migrated to England, Great Britain in the late 1970’s. I migrated to the USA in 1998 and settled in Hayward, CA. One year later my uncle told me that it was time to come to MN and I packed my belongings and came to MN. I have lived here in MN since and have a husband, two kids, and two dogs. I do a lot of volunteer work for my community and the City of Brooklyn Park when I am not at work. I also like to cook for large gatherings and social events in my community
